  United kicked off the new Premier League campaign on Friday with a 1-0 win against Fulham at Old Trafford thanks to an 87th-minute strike from Joshua Zirkzee, who came off the bench to make his first competitive appearance for the Red Devils.

The Portugal international had two glaring opportunities – most notably a one-on-one that was saved in the 34th minute – among his six attempts on goal over the course of the game.

  The 29-year-old took to social media to apologise to everyone who was let down by him failing to win them vital points in the fantasy game and promised to make up for it.
